When I talk with most marketers today about how they generate leads and fill the top of their sales funnel, most say trade shows, seminar series, email blasts to purchased lists, internal cold calling, outsourced telemarketing, and advertising. I call these methods "outbound marketing" where a marketer pushes his message out far and wide hoping that it resonates with that needle in the haystack. Outbound versus inbound marketing: easy versus priceless

Currently the marketing market is still into outbound marketing: machine gunning the supposedly target customers with emails or calls.Outbound marketing: machine gun shooting. This means using call centers and email marketing campaigns in order to address as many potential customers as possible. As email marketing is possible for as low as 1cent per email it is now the most widely used method. read more
